AI chooses wrong target

On the tiny digital view finder I can't tell what is in focus, especially when out in the bright sun

Sony a6300 seems to have chosen the driftwood in front of Miah.

This time it's the driftwood behind her

Failed to track her as she thunders towards me.

Finally get one right, but I failed to frame it properly and Miah is squinting and looking away!
